Freedom

I feel fortunate to have many current & former members of the armed forces in my family and all who serve our country as a testament to their patriotism. As an early salute to our veterans for Veterans Day, I quote the lyrics from my new favorite song “Chicken Fried” by the Zac Brown Band:

“I thank god for my life
And for the stars and stripes
May freedom forever fly, let it ring.
Salute the ones who died
The ones that give their lives so we don`t have to sacrifice
All the things we love”

Here’s to FREEDOM. May we always have the freedoms our Constitution allows and that our Armed Forces protect.

A New Blog!

I have created a new blog for friends and family to check in on our family and all of our happenings!

Today is Back to School night at “A’s” school! I get to drill the teacher about how she’s going to teach him and help him be successful reading and writing. The sheriff department will also be there to create identity cards for the kids, complete with fingerprints and pictures. This is a sad necessity in this age of child abductions.

As he has entered 2nd grade and “K” is in Kindergarten, I find myself becoming a soccer-gymnastics-lobbyist mom, and I like it.  And I consider myself a “chihuahua”. I may be small, but I pack quite a punch. Don’t mess with my family. I enjoy offering criticism and suggestions. Oh, and I wear lipstick!!! Hhmmm, an innuendo to this upcoming political disaster, the 2008 Presidential election. Stay tuned for my rants and raves….
